Last month on my way to Teotihuacan to see the pyramids I was able to make a quick stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe better known in Spanish as “Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe”. This Roman catholic church houses the cloak containing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is believed that the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego in the near hill of Tepeyac. This church is visited by several million people every year.

We arrived at the middle of the Sunday morning Mass. The church was full so it was difficult to see the cloak. There were lots of people dancing all over the square. It is a beautiful site, if you are in Mexico City you should stop by.
